Robert G Frykberg, DPM, MPH, MAPWCA, FRSM, FFPM (Glasg) is a graduate of the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1976. Dr Frykberg went on to complete his residency training at the New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He served as the President of the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society and a Member of the Board of Registration in Podiatry. From 1992 to 1994, he attended the Harvard School of Public Health and graduated with a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in quantitative methods. After 21 years of private practice, Dr Frykberg accepted the position as Clinical Dean of the Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery prior to moving to Phoenix. After 15 years of dedicated service to our Veterans, Dr Frykberg has decided to retire from his role as Chief of Podiatry at the Phoenix VA Medical Center and as Director of the Phoenix VA Medical Center Podiatric Residency Program. He continues to hold the academic rank of Professor, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and Adjunct Professor, Midwestern University Program in Podiatric Medicine. Currently, Dr Frykberg is Clinical Professor and Residency Director, Department of Orthopaedics, at UT Health San Antonio, Division of Podiatry in San Antonio, Texas. His research and writing interests have included all facets of lower extremity disorders, but are specifically focused on diabetic foot ulcers, infections, Charcot foot, and wound care. The author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, he has also been the Editor of two textbooks: The High-Risk Foot in Diabetes Mellitus (1991) and the Diabetic Charcot Foot (2010). His expertise in the Diabetic Foot translated into hundreds of speaking invitations nationally and internationally with numerous lecture engagements in China, India, Russia, South America, the UK, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Italy, and across Europe.

Michael Troiano, DPM, FACFAS is a 2004 graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed residency at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is in private practice at the Center for Foot and Ankle Disorders in Philadelphia. He is Adjunct Clinical Professor at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in the Department of Surgery, he teaches Biomechanics, and MRI reading. Dr Troiano is a board certified in foot, rear foot, and reconstructive ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff and teaching appointments at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital, Temple University Hospital, Penn Wound Care Center, Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Abington Memorial Hospital and the Foot and Ankle Specialty Center. He takes foot and ankle trauma call at Temple University Hospital and Penn- Presbyterian Medical Center, is a director of the Penn Wound Care Center and is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer. He has authored and co-authored several journals, articles, and chapters published in various peer reviewed journals and books.

Ammar Al Rubaiay, DPM, FACFAS

Ammar Al Rubaiay, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified Podiatric Physician and Surgeon. Upon graduating from The New York College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr Ammar completed his residency training at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital, with extensive training in trauma, arthroscopic surgery, as well as forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction surgery. He also gained additional experience through multiple courses including added training in Charcot foot reconstruction and wound care. Dr Ammar was given the honor of being the Chief Resident the final year of his residency training. Dr Ammar completed his undergraduate training at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, where he was a member of the varsity soccer team for four years. He received multiple awards and graduated with a degree in biology. He then completed his medical education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine where he was the recipient of multiple academic awards including being named the highest scoring student on the Capstone examination. Following that he was accepted into the prestigious Long Island Jewish/ North Shore University Hospital Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Program, where he completed his residency training. In addition to having the honor of being named Chief Resident during his final year of training, he also was honored by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine for having the highest score in the country on the national in-training examinations. He was also honored at the Hospital for Special Surgery for having the top research presentation at the annual limb salvage symposium. Dr Ammar’s background as an athlete has helped him to understand exactly what it feels like to be in the patient’s shoes and gives him a unique sense of understanding to the practice of Podiatry. He is a compassionate doctor who always takes the patient’s goals and lifestyle into account before formulating the best treatment for that specific patient. He uses his advanced surgical as well as biomechanical and wound care training to provide the patients with a wide array of treatment options, each tailored to the patient’s specific needs. Dr Ammar is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Clinical instructor at the Long Island Jewish/ North Shore University Hospital Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program.

Vineela Ayyagari, DPM, ABPM, ABFAS

Vineela Ayyagari, DPM, ABPM, ABFAS is a podiatric physician who completed her medical education at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. She went on to complete her residency training at the Baltimore VA Medical Center, where she gained extensive experience in comprehensive foot and ankle care. Following residency, she pursued advanced fellowship training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at the Reconstruction Institute in Bellevue, Ohio. Dr Ayyagari currently practices at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in West Virginia, where she is dedicated to providing high-quality care to veterans, with a focus on both surgical and non-surgical management of complex foot and ankle conditions.

Alan Bass, DPM, CPC, FACPM is a Board-Certified podiatrist and CEO of JARALL Medical Management. Dr Bass ran a successful practice in New Jersey until 2024, since finishing his residency in 1994. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Podiatric Medicine as well as the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management. In addition, he is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) by the American Academy of Professional Coders. He is a frequent lecturer nationwide in the area of medical and business management as well as charting, coding and compliance. Dr Bass also provided business and practice management guidance while previously working as Medical Director for NEMO Health, the previous owners of TRAKnet EHR. With the acquisition of TRAKnet by Modernizing Medicine (ModMed), he also previously served on the Client Advisory Board for Podiatry for ModMed.

Nicholas J Bevilacqua, DPM, FACFAS

Nicholas Bevilacqua, DPM, FACFAS is a board-certified, fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Binghamton University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed his internship and surgical residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers in New York. Subsequently, he pursued an additional year of fellowship training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and limb salvage at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL. This advanced fellowship focused on the conservative and surgical treatment of diabetic conditions affecting the lower extremity, including Charcot foot and ankle reconstruction. Dr Bevilacqua also visited the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Centre for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kurgan, Russia, where he received advanced training on the Ilizarov technique for correcting acute trauma and complex foot and ankle deformities. ​He is board-certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is trained and certified in Total Ankle Replacement surgery and is one of the few surgeons in Bergen County actively performing this surgery. He has been recognized as one of Bergen County's Top Doctors by Bergen Magazine on multiple occasions. ​Dr Bevilacqua has published numerous articles on foot and ankle surgery in peer-reviewed journals and has also written several book chapters on the subject. He is an active member of his profession and regularly lectures at state and national levels. ​He is frequently invited as a faculty member at the ACFAS Foot and Ankle Arthroscopy Surgical Skills course held at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago, IL. Currently, he serves as a member of the Medical Education Committee for Holy Name Hospital and Medical Center. Dr Bevilacqua resides in Haworth, NJ with his wife and two children. He enjoys snowboarding and is an avid cyclist.

Dominick Casciato, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained podiatric surgeon at the Orlando VA Medical Center and an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in limb preservation and deformity correction at the University of Maryland. His clinical and research interests focus on limb preservation, complex deformity correction, and outcomes research in foot and ankle surgery. His work also explores the application of artificial intelligence and large language models in surgical decision-making. Dr Casciato is actively involved in resident education and academic leadership within the Department of Veterans Affairs.

He has been consulting for medical manufacturers and for a myriad of medical specialties in the areas of DME and wound care regulations for over 20 years. He is the leader for the APMA DME Workgroup, meets regularly with Medicare officials, and has formed liaisons with other orthotic professionals and lectured nationwide. His monthly column appearing in Podiatry Management is primarily dedicated to coding and compliance issues and has been a contributing author to Practical Endocrinology and other medical publications. Dr Kesselman recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Podiatry Management enshrining him in the Podiatry Hall of Fame.

Samantha Landau, DPM, MPH, FFPM RCPS (Glasg) graduated from SUNY College at Geneseo with a BS in Business Administration, and with minors in both biology and chemistry. Enrolled in the dual-degree program of NYCPM and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, she obtained her MPH (with an emphasis on healthcare management), after only two years, the first student to do so in the history of the program. She then obtained her DPM from NYCPM. Dr Landau completed her residency at NYCPM/Metropolitan and was elected chief resident in her final year. She then completed a fellowship in “Gait Related Disorders of the Lower Extremity in Children and Adults” at NYCPM, allowing her to become a leading expert within the field and joining the Orthopedics and Pediatrics Departments at NYCPM. She is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and has standard ankle surgery privilege. Dr Landau is involved in NYSPMA and was on the E-board for the Kings Division and now currently the Manhattan Division as well as on numerous committees. As an assistant professor at the school, she teaches biomechanics to the students and instructs the residents within the clinic and operating room settings. She is proud to have this role to train the next generation of the profession. Dr Landau also runs several Gait Lab sessions where she assesses patients’ abnormalities while teaching the students simultaneously. Further, she lectures nationally and internationally for CME conferences on biomechanics related topics. It is her most passionate endeavor to be able to lecture to current podiatrists, residents and students alike. Additionally, she is on the exam committee for the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and writer of biomechanics related questions. Dr Landau is published within the scientific literature as well and is a reviewer for the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association for biomechanics related topics. In her free time, she enjoys giving expert opinions and interviews for podiatry as well as volunteering for the Special Olympics and NYC marathon.

Peter M Moyer, DPM, FACFAS, AAPWCA is a board-certified podiatric surgeon dedicated to providing comprehensive foot and ankle care in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He went on to complete his podiatric residency at Temple University, where he served as Chief Resident, demonstrating strong leadership and clinical excellence. Dr Moyer is affiliated with several regional healthcare facilities, including UNC Nash General Hospital, Nash Day Hospital, Nash Wound Care Center, PAM Hospital, and Vidant Edgecombe Hospital. His clinical interests include diabetic limb salvage, pediatric and adult foot and ankle disorders, reconstructive surgery, and sports medicine. Khoa Nguyen, DPM, FACFAS, DAPBM

Khoa Nguyen, DPM, FACFAS, DAPBM, grew up in Vietnam and moved to the United States at the age of twelve. Dr Nguyen has lived in a variety of states, including California, Washington, Alabama, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, and finally Connecticut. After graduating from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with Honors in 2010, he spent the next four years in medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia and graduated at the top of his class in 2014. Dr Nguyen then completed his surgical residency training with the Atlantic Health System in Morristown Medical Center, a Trauma 2, where he successfully completed over 2000 surgical procedures in traumatic lower extremity fractures and complex reconstructive limb deformity cases. Dr Nguyen relocated from New Jersey to Florida to pursue an opportunity to contribute and advance the growing need of lower extremity trauma services in Lee County. After two years in Florida, Dr Nguyen followed his now wife, Dr Viola, back to the northeast to settle in Connecticut. During his spare time, he enjoys Alabama football, NFL football, tennis and golf.

Michael Subik, DPM, DABFAS, FACFAS, is a licensed reconstructive foot and ankle surgeon in NJ and NY with over 25 years of clinical experience. He is the Founder and Director of the North Jersey Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Fellowship Program and the Director of the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program at St. Mary's General Hospital. Dr Subik also provides Expert Testimony on medical-legal cases. Dr Subik is extensively trained in lower limb salvage, primary and revision reconstruction, ankle and foot trauma, and total ankle joint replacement. He performed one of the first total ankle replacements in northern New Jersey in 2009, which was also the first total ankle replacement at Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center, and was a visiting proctor for the first total ankle replacement in New Hampshire. He has proctored and trained many podiatrists and orthopedists throughout the country on the Ilizarov External Ring Fixation Method and on ankle joint replacement over his 25- year career. He is a pioneer in diabetic limb salvage and regularly employs novel methods to save limbs including Transverse Bone Transport. ​

Daniel S Yaeger, DPM serves in the Department of Surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He earned his BS in biology and rabbinic ordination from the Lander College for Men. He then went on to complete podiatry school and his residency at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, serving as the academic coordinator his final year. Following residency Dr Yaeger joined the surgery department. Currently, Dr Yaeger works at NYC HHC Metropolitan and Lincoln. His duties include out-patient clinic, ER call, and management of inpatients. He has the privilege to work with 3rd and 4th year students as well as residents at the NYCPM / Metropolitan hospital residency. His primary interests are limb salvage, diabetic foot infections, forefoot deformity, Charcot reconstruction, Lisfranc and midfoot injuries, adult acquired flatfoot and delayed management of calcaneal fractures.
